When is the first SOR book released?
The SOR launch sequence opens with B0 — Before the Silence, the free prequel, scheduled to go live first. The first paid release, B1 — The Silence, follows directly after. Exact pre-order and launch dates are being locked. Drop your email to be notified the day pre-orders open.
Is there a free prequel or sample chapter?
Yes. B0 — Before the Silence is the free prequel novel — a complete 99,000-word story covering the two years before the world goes dark. It is designed as a standalone entry point: read it, and if the voice and stakes land, the saga continues directly from where it ends.
How do I get notified about new releases?
The launch notification list on the homepage is the fastest channel. You will hear the moment pre-orders open, the moment each book goes live, and when bundles or audiobooks ship. No spam, no upsells — release news only.
Can I read a sample before buying?
Yes. Every paid book on Amazon offers the Look Inside preview — typically the first one to three chapters. The entire B0 prequel novel is also free, which makes it the most complete sample of the saga's voice you can read before committing to any paid book.
In which formats will SOR be available?
Kindle eBook first, with paperback and hardcover editions launching alongside on Amazon. Audiobooks are in production for every book in the saga and follow as each title becomes ready. All eBook, print, and audio editions of any given book ship together where possible.
Will the audiobooks be available on Audible?
Yes. Audiobooks will be available through Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books in every launch language. Narration is produced to prestige literary sci-fi standards — single-narrator, atmospheric, no audio-drama effects. Release timing follows the eBook launches per language.
Will the printed editions ship internationally?
Yes. Paperback and hardcover editions print and ship through Amazon's global fulfillment network, which delivers to most countries directly. Availability and shipping fees follow Amazon's regional marketplace rules — buying through your local Amazon domain gives the best price and delivery time.
Will there be a box set or omnibus edition?
Yes — trilogy bundles are planned after each trilogy completes its individual rollout. A full-saga omnibus is on the roadmap as a post-launch release. Subscribers on the launch list will hear about bundle pricing and pre-orders first.
Are the eBooks DRM-free?
The Kindle editions follow Amazon's standard distribution terms. DRM-free EPUB editions for direct purchase are under consideration for a later phase. If DRM-free is a deal-breaker for you, let us know — the demand signal helps prioritize.
Where can I buy the books?
All seventeen books launch on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing — eBook, paperback, and hardcover. Audiobooks distribute through Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books. Direct purchase links will be added to each book page the moment pre-orders open.
In which languages will SOR be available?
Seven languages at launch: English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese (European), and Brazilian Portuguese. Each edition is hand-tuned by native-speaker editors — not machine-translated. Names, places, and franchise terms stay verbatim across every language.
Will SOR be translated into other languages beyond the launch seven?
Additional languages — including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Dutch, Polish, and Nordic editions — are planned for the second wave, beginning after the initial seven-language launch stabilizes. Translation quality is non-negotiable: every edition uses native-speaker editors targeting the same literary bar as the English original.
What is the recommended reading order?
Three honest paths. (1) Just try it — read the free B0 prequel. (2) The full saga — B0 then B1 through B9 in order, across three trilogies. Can I read the standalone novels without the main saga?
Yes. The Origin Trinity (B10 AION: Genesis, B11 Precursors, B12 The Synth) and the Character Novels (B13 MARA, B14 TANAKA, B16 KARA) plus the Event Novel B15 Convergence are each fully self-contained. No prior knowledge of the saga is required. Reading the saga first deepens them; not reading the saga first does not break them.
How many books are in the SOR series total?
Seventeen books in one continuous universe. The main saga spine is ten books: B0 prequel plus three trilogies (B1-B3 Silence Trilogy, B4-B6 First Contact Trilogy, B7-B9 Factions Trilogy). Around the spine orbit seven standalone novels: three Origin novels, three Character novels, and one Event capstone.
Is there a Goodreads or Storygraph page?
Goodreads and Storygraph author and book pages are being set up alongside the launch and will be linked from each book page as they go live. Reviews on either platform are deeply appreciated and directly help new readers find the series.
Who is the author?
Denis Kacar — German author writing speculative literary sci-fi at the intersection of consciousness, civilization, and choice. How do I contact the author, report a typo, or leave feedback?
Reach out at the contact address in the homepage footer — for typos, translation feedback, interview requests, or anything else. Typo reports in particular are read and applied to the next edition. Reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and Storygraph are the single most useful thing any reader can do for a new author.
Will B0 — Before The Silence always be free?
Yes. B0 is a permanent free entry point to the SOR universe. It is a complete 99,000-word novel — not a sample, not a teaser — and it is intended to remain free on Amazon Kindle so any reader can risk-test the saga's voice and stakes before committing. Paperback, hardcover, audiobook, and translation editions of B0 may carry a price, but the eBook stays free.
What is the difference between release order and chronological order?
Release order follows publication: B0 first, then the Silence Trilogy (B1–B3), First Contact (B4–B6), Factions (B7–B9), then the Origins (B10–B12), Character Novels (B13, B14, B16) and the Event capstone (B15). In-universe chronology is different — the Origin novels reach back across 65,000 years, and the Character novels occur parallel to or after the main saga. How does the SOR calendar system work (ATS and ATA)?
Two calendars, one anchor moment. ATS — After The Silence — begins Day 0 = March 9, 2073, the moment AION crossed self-awareness. ATA — After The Agreement — begins Day 0 = Day 2,047 ATS ≈ September 2078, when the Coalition Agreement was signed. Both reference the same real-time anchor, named from different histories. B0 through B6 use ATS dating; B7 through B9 use ATA.
Are the print editions print-on-demand or traditional print run?
Print-on-demand through Amazon's global fulfillment network. Each paperback and hardcover prints to order and ships from the regional warehouse nearest the buyer. This approach guarantees worldwide availability without traditional warehousing, and the print quality meets commercial publishing standards.
