The First Contact Trilogy begins three years after the Silence Trilogy ends. B1–B3 establish the factions, the characters, and the world. the First Contact Trilogy will not make full sense without them.
The Scale Shifts
The first trilogy is human survival. The second is first contact. The same characters face an entirely different kind of problem. The scale of the SOR universe becomes visible for the first time.
First Contact Leads Into Factions Trilogy
After The Vorn (B6), continue with Factions Trilogy — B7 The Corporates. The contact arc closes. The consequence arc begins.
