Who Are the Precursors?

The Precursors predate every other faction by 40,000 years. Ancient synthetic beings who achieved technological transcendence before humanity's ancestors discovered fire, they seeded civilizations across multiple star systems as a long-running experiment.

Control — which humanity believed they invented — was built on Precursor foundations. Every breakthrough in artificial intelligence for the past century has traced back to artifacts they left behind. They were watching the whole time.

Now the Singularity stirs, and the Precursors have returned with a single, non-negotiable position: what they built, they will reclaim. Everyone else is a complication to be managed — or removed.
